Dragées first appeared in France in the 13th century. Caterina de' Medici took care of introducing them to Italy, who for the first time offered them to her guests in 1533. Among the “skiing”, the impervious and winding streets that branch off the slopes of the volcano, a variety of pistachios, unique in the world, grows proudly. Unique in appearance, scent and flavor, precious because it is hand-picked one by one and every other year, Bronte's green pistachio rightly deserves the nickname “green gold” by which it has long been known.
